Oil Platform Re-Use In Italy

The conceptual project I worked on in Italy.

The basis of the project was to redesign a use for old oil platforms in the Adriatic Sea. The platforms were out of use and required a new purpose. People proposed lots of things, I proposed turning them into experimental algae farms, aquaculture farms (fish farms) and underwater gardens for scuba divers/sea-plant farming.

The platform grid was to be dismantled an reattached underwater to create a surface for various seaweed and plants to cling to near the sunlight.

The platforms were clustered in areas so I also suggested that the remaining should be sunken under the sea to aid in coral reef growth. (right of picture)
